Synodality is not based on the parliamentary democracy where the majority with the set agenda wins over, and the minority is side-lined. Instead, the doctrines of communion of Churches and the collegiality of the bishops serve as the ecclesiological principles behind synodality. This volume is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the communion of Churches and the collegiality of bishops, and the second part deals with the most essential forms or expressions of episcopal collegiality with particular reference to the Synod of Bishops.
