The title of this work is ‘DHARMA: The Core of Indian Ethos’. ‘Ethos’ means philosophy, tenet, belief, spirit, etc. Attempt is made to analyse, study and explicate different aspects, demeanours and expressions of Dharma. Dharma, as it has been stated in the work more than once, has a wide range of meaning and is the richest, most comprehensive, most prolific, and widely studied and researched concept and ideology in the entire gamut of Sanskritic literature and Indian tradition. Dharma-concept in different religions like Buddhism and Jainism, in different systems of philosophy like Sruti, Smrti and Mimamsa, Mahatma Gandhi’s understanding of Dharma, etc., are also adequately treated. One chapter is on ‘Christian Dharma’, and another chapter is on ‘Dharmaram College’.
